Abstract

Maligi Tourism Village is located in Sasak Ranah Pesisir District, West Pasaman Regency, on the western coast
of Sumatra. The village, situated 30 kilometers from Simpang Empat, the capital of West Pasaman Regency,
features coastal and estuary attractions. The previous logo used to represent Maligi Tourism Village did not fully
capture its potential. Therefore, the logo was evaluated and redesigned to better reflect the village's identity.
The research method employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving interviews with key informants,
observations, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using a SWOT analysis to assess strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The design process began with generating logo ideas, which were
visualized through a style guide to establish the visual direction. The subsequent development focused on the logo
design and its application across various promotional media.
The aim of redesigning the logo as a new visual identity for Maligi Tourism Village was to enhance recognition
and attract a wider audience, including local and international visitors. The final design aligned with the target
audience segmentation and incorporated five key aspects: Uniqueness, Relevance, Simplicity, Timelessness, and
Adaptability. The final logo was applied to primary media, such as the brand guideline, which serves as a guide
for consistent logo use, as well as supporting media, including merchandise (t-shirts, stickers, keychains) and
promotional materials (posters, x-banners).
